Homeopathy and Homotoxicology
You may have heard about homeopathy but are not sure what it is or how it works.
The origin of homeopathy goes back to the end of the 17th century. Developed by a German doctor, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. His theory was based on the premise that the body can self-heal when given miniscule, diluted amounts of plants and minerals. He believed in the natural law of healing — “similia similibus curantur” or ‘The Law Of Similars’. (Like cures Like)

Many people feel intuitively that this concept is so unusual that it is hard to logically make sense of it.
However, homeopathy is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO). In the UK, homeopathic remedies are regulated by the MHRA [Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency) and by the FDA in the United States.
How I use homeopathy in my practice
I use Homeopathic Complex remedies, which combine two or more homeopathic substances to address different symptoms or conditions in the body simultaneously.
Chronic conditions always affect more than one organ or system. Therefore, Complex remedies are ideal for addressing the different systems involved in your long-term problem.
What condition could indicate that homeopathy might help me?
Many people who visit the practice have endured pain for a long time without finding relief. At the start of our session, we assess whether toxicity could be contributing to your pain.
Toxins trigger inflammation and pain, so we may start your treatment with a gentle detox. We use specific Complex homeopathic remedies designed to work at a cellular level. This process, known as Homotoxicology, follows the principle that homotoxins cause disease.
A homotoxin was defined by Dr Reckeweg who developed Homotoxicology, as “any substance that creates a direct or indirect toxic burden in the human organism.”
Can I take Homeopathic remedies as well as my supplements?
Yes, you can. You may find that your supplements have even more benefit.
How long would I take Homeopathic remedies?
Your symptoms and how your body responds to the remedies will likely determine the treatment duration. Initially, treatment may take about 3–4 weeks, as the body needs that time to make physiological changes. We will then re-assess the next steps for your treatment.
Remedies are usually screened for suitability using muscle testing.
SUMMARY
In case you’re thinking that homeopathy is too ‘woo woo’ or weird, it’s useful to know that you don’t have to believe in homeopathy for it to work. Dogs, cats and horses all benefit from homeopathy which speaks volumes for its efficacy.
