Long Term Pain

If chronic pain is something you’ve lived with for a long time, I know exactly how you’re feeling.

It’s debilitating, it changes your mood, it stops you from doing things you want to do, it alters your way of life (subtly and sometimes not so subtly).

You’ve probably done the rounds of physio, chiropractic, osteopathy, massage, reiki, acupuncture and many more.  Maybe they help for a bit but the improvement doesn’t last.  You find yourself having a treatment every week just to manage the pain – which gets expensive – and there doesn’t seem to be an end point in sight.  Will you need to do this for the rest of your life?

You are hard-wired to heal.  We all are.

So what’s going on when you don’t recover from the sprained ankle/bad back/stiff neck/headache/migraine/twisted knee?

This is what I find in my practice.  You’ve had great treatments with your osteopath/chiropracter/physio etc., but there are usually one or possibly 2 more parts of the puzzle that still need to be addressed.

The first bit of the puzzle that is missing and is the reason you have to keep going back for treatment, is the biochemical aspect of your injury.  The trauma and inflammation in the tissues just doesn’t go. And the reason it doesn’t go is very often down to toxicity.  The site of your injury becomes a focus for bacterial infection or even parasites.

The second bit of the puzzle that hasn’t been addressed is the emotional part of your pain. When you have lived with pain for a long time, it becomes increasingly difficult to believe that you can ever live without pain. Your mind and mindset play a huge part in your health and well being, especially when it comes to injuries and pain.

You’re  probably wondering what it is that I do which is different from other people.

Quite a few years ago I was a personal trainer and I damaged my left ankle whilst out running with a client.  I carried on training and working and by the time I realised that my ankle was not going to improve if I continued doing what I was doing, I had done further damage over and above my original injury.  My recovery involved many different modalities treatment which is how learnt that treating pain is not always as straight forward as it seems.

My treatment of pain and injuries that have resisted everything includes any or all of the following:

  • Microcurrent / Frequencies
  • E.M.D.R [Eye Movement Desensitising & Reprocessing]
  • Clinical Kinesiology
  • Cranio Sacral Therapy
  • Bowen Therapy
  • Rapid Transformational Therapy
  • Detoxification
  • Scenar
  • Cold Laser Treatment

There is no one ‘recipe’ that fits everybody so your treatment plan is designed specifically for you and your pain issue.

Here is a testimonial from one of my clients who travelled down from Scotland:

Marian was recommended to me by my osteopath who noticed that in order to finish my treatment with him I required a thorough detoxification, something which is necessary for working with the soft tissues. Coming down for two sessions from Scotland, I was very impressed by Marian’s kinesiology technique, knowledge of how the human body actually works and thoroughness. She was able to find my body’s areas of weakness and give me remedies to eliminate these issues. She was also able to provide me pain relief to areas I had felt pain for years. In addition, I have felt great general health improvements during my treatment with Marian.”
